Light Without Noble Earths
Gold, palladium or noblre earths - cell phones, laptops and other electronic devices contain many valuable raw materials. Their extraction often takes place under difficult environmental and labor standards. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) can help save some of these materials. They are already used today as an energy-saving light source in displays and monitors, for example. Researchers at IRIS Adlershof are now testing a new class of materials to take OLEDs and other future technologies to a new level. Read more about it here.
